we had a late start today considering we didn't get to the house till 3:30 am and kristen couldn't slept cause virg was snoring. no one woke up before 10 am. mom cut up some fruits and veggies for breakfast and we sat around and chatted. the beach house we are staying at is wonderful! there is a beautiful view of the ocean (when it's not cloudy), a cute little bridge to get to the house, and the inside is decorated so cute!
since we had such a late start today we decided to stay near the hotel and just tour towns nearby! first we headed to a castle just up the road. sure enough the castle is closed off for hotel guests only, I guess people cause stay at the castle which is way cool! but kinda sucked cause we couldn't see anything.
from there we went to the doolin cave! it was really cool we hiked down about 150 stairs to get into the bottom of the cave. on our way down everyone needed to grab a helmet to wear! all of us giggled like why would we need a helmet but it was a must. i saw all of us hit our head at least once, virg and Kirt multiple times!
once we got to the bottom of the cave all the light were turned off and it was pitch black. as the tour guide explained the history behind the cave multiple lights turned on and this is what we saw.
it was so cool! everyone knew what they were gonna see except for me cause I don't pay much attention to pictures, catalogs, and Internet searches. so when this showed up I was amazed!
as kristen looks up at the structure in awh her hard hat falls off. it clinks and clanks about 10 times till it gets to the bottom of the cave. as embarrassed as she is she looks at the tour guide and says "I am so sorry". I've never seen my dad laugh so hard in my life!!!!
if you look closely you can see the hard hat in the lower left corner. the tour guide retrieved her hard hat and all was well. i must say its all kristens fault when she decided to wear her hard hat over top of her beanie, therefore the hard hat didn't fit and was literally sitting on her head.
we stopped do dinner at a fun little pub in doolin. the food here is amazing, much better than the raw meat I had in Norway.
then we made our second trip to the grocery store, where we bought even more food. we have more food at the beach house than I've ever had at home. traveling with virg is very pleasant, you won't go hungry!
we spent the evening in the beach house talking and hanging out. Doreen caro and I did attempt to walk to the beach but we didn't quite make it. we will go to the beach on a warmer day. if it ever gets warm.
tomorrow we will head to galway to your the village.
