day 1

today we left ogden around 8 am and of course we were running late and hit some traffic on our way. shortly after that we arrived in seattle and had a couple hour lay over, got some food and just hung out for a bit. later that day we boarded the condor (german airline) to head to frankfurt. we weren't sure what to expect but it turned out to be kinda nice except for the food. all the food was german and nasty. some of it we weren't ever sure what it is. 

10 hours later we made it to germany. we had to go through customs and all that good stuff but luckily everything went smoothly until dad found his luggage and mine is no where to me found....it was stil in seattle, didn't make the lay over. so I won't have luggage for a couple days. after filing a report and getting all that figure out went were headed to the car rental place to meet kristen and abby. on our way there we thought it was in terminal 2 so we texted them to meet us there when we go there we couldn't find them. come to find out they were in the right place the first time and we make them walk all over the place looking for us. but after and hour or so we found them and went to mcdonalds for our last good beverage. 

then we were on our way, driving through germany at a good steady pace till we hit traffic and an hour drive turned into 3 hours, me and abby fell asleep in the back and kris and dad did everything to stay awake cause no one slept much on the plane. then we finally arrived in heidleberg and it is beautiful !! 

we hiked up to heidleberg castle, you could take a up hill path or stairs. we chose stairs..not sure why and it wasn't the best choice. but we made it.

it was so pretty. then the rain came down and we were drenched in a matter of minutes. here is a picture of us trying to wait out the rain 

after that we walked back to the city and found a little german place for dinner. it was delicious we were all happy to have a good meal. now we are off to bed and we'll be back at it tomorrow at 8 am.
